“What are the laws and what could be the law should be left to the wisdom of the Parliament. Neither the Courts are equipped nor is it the function of the Court to decide what the law should be. The Courts have only to interpret the law as it is,” the ASG said.

Clearly our culture is so weak that two men having sex legally will tear apart the moral fabric of Indian culture. A culture that has survived hundreds of years of invasion and wars. But heaven forbid, if two men get it on then it will all come crashing down. Of course, if it is illegal gay sex, it’s all happy & gay.
And yes, the courts should only interpret the existing laws. Infact let’s bring back all the archaic laws that the courts helped reverse. God knows what abolishing of Sati and dowry and forbidding marital rape can do to our culture.
And of course, only the parliament has the wisdom (I didn’t think I’d ever say the words “parliament” and “wisdom” in the same sentence.) to decide laws.
