Shiny New Gaysi Website

Hello fellow gaysis & supporters,

Hope you had a good weekend. I sure did. The Girl & I are throwing a holiday party (I refuse to call it ‘Christmas’ because of my militant atheism and also to annoy The Girl!) and we’ve been busy going to all the hip Torontonian markets – Queen Street, Kensington Market & China town & buying groceries for the party and little unique gifts for the people we’ve invited. Although, we realised that every time we bought something we liked we said ‘We could give this to S or D. OR… WE COULD JUST KEEP THIS FOR OURSELVES.’ So we are making another trip there in an hour to make sure we do have gifts for people other than ourselves. ‘Tis the season to be self-indulgent, I suppose!

Anyway, so MJ & I have looking at the gaysifamily blog/website & we agree that it needs to be brought into the oneders. Right now the look and feel is VERY late 90s or at best early 2000. And since this is a ‘family’ effort, we’d like you, our family members, to tell us what you’d like to see (other than nude pictures) on this site. Tell us what you don’t want to see, too.

We really need this feedback, so I request all you readers & lurkers to take a minute out of your precious day and get in touch. If what you like is already here then just tell us that too, so we don’t axe it! icon smile Shiny New Gaysi Website

Thank you, y’all! Merry holidays!

  1. * Gaysi political issues could be raised more often.

    * Music! This world can never have enough showcasing of gaysi music.

    * A blogroll that lists all gaysi blogs that you know of could be put up.

I’ve just woken up and my brain is still a bit rusty. If I think of more things I’ll post about them later.

    Happy holidays!

  2. Keep the pic of the 2 ladies and the rainbow sky.

I think it would be great if we had a forum where members could log in and contribute. Something like at afterellen, or http://www.imaan.org.uk or http://www.aljannah.org.uk. Readers can contribute useful information and threads. For instance maybe stories or gaysi related books. Those could be developed. A community atmosphere will also further develop with forums. Maybe we could also have a chat section so gaysis can get to know each other better because we know how isolating it can be when you don’t know a single gay friendly south asian let alone a gay one. Other than those suggestions i think site is tops. :) Keep up the great work people. :)

  4. The pic of the ladies should stay. either the same way or as part of the header/ background.

The header can change. Other than that I think its sooper.
And the chat section is a good idea.

  5. @FireboltX: There’s a desi blog roll at http://www.bombay-dost.pbworks.com and if people want to nominate more blogs, I’ll be only too happy to add those.
@Bluesky: @BombayDost has just started an lgbt twitter list for those of us on twitter to network, discuss or act: http://twitter.com/bombaydost/india-lgbt-tweeple Please spread the word.
