Looks like the folks behind the Chennai Rainbow Pride celebrations will not be limiting themselves to just one city. Yup you heard it right, they have bigger…much bigger plans.
Last year Chennai saw the celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Pride Month for the first time. This year, the celebrations will be more widespread, with a pride march being organised in Coimbatore in July.
And you have no choice but to take Kalki, founder of Sahodari Foundation seriously.
“LGBT people everywhere should be proud of their identity and celebrations should be held not just in Chennai but in every town and village. By next year, we hope to include Madurai, Tiruchi and other regions,” she said at a press conference held on June 2 to announce Chennai’s Pride Month celebrations. [Link]
