  1. Congratulations Shri for training me and sitting patiently with me as I went through recordings after recordings of the thamizh monologue. Not to forget the audio editing, the voice overs, direction and production of the movie :)

    • Hi Sathya,

My best friend in India’s name is Satya, and he’s a trans activist in the Delhi area. I can tell you about transitioning in the US, but if you want specifics about who to see in India, and costs and things like that, there’s a great listserve that the other Satya has been running for almost 10 years, and there’s a lot of support there. The listserve is called “Sampoorna.”

Also, I work for SALGA, a queer desi group in NYC and we have a webpage with resources — http://www.salganyc.org/transgenderally — check it out, and down towards the bottom, you should find the link for Sampoorna and how to request to join that listserve.

      Goodluck!
      Deen
