Ideally it should be the second option according to me. But nowadays, infections such as HPV are on rise and we don’t have any tests to detect them. So if you want to protect your partner from such infections, it is better to use protection always. And recently there have been reports showing that HIV transmission is higher in people who are in monogamous relationships because of the unprotected sex. You get only one life, why take chance! But sadly, emotions take over such pragmatic thinking.
Sadly, I know too many people infected with HIV because the partner they trusted to be faithful was not.
If we had an infallible lie-detector test that could detect those who are unable to live up to promises they make even to themselves, then maybe unprotected sex in such a relationship would be OK.
Or if you are hyper-perceptive about how disciplined and committed your lover is.
Where find such a world? Such a haven? Such a heaven?
