Queer Tasveer (Summer 2011) Contest Results

Thanks to all our readers who participated in Queer Tasveer Summer 2011 – Gaysi photo contest. All your entries were amazing!

Gaysi team reviewed the entries and voted for the top two this past weekend. Here are the results :

First Prize : “Duet” taken at Paro, Bhutan (2010).
30 USD Gift certificate
Winner: Tanvir Alim, Bangladesh

Second Prize: “Waiting for You” taken at Hyderbad, India (2009)
20 USD Gift certificate
Winner: Tanvir Alim, Bangladesh

Incidentally, both the  entries belong to Tanvir Alim from Bangladesh. Tanvir is a Gay rights activist from the country, who also runs Boys of Bangladesh (Bob), an online Queer group. He is doing a lot of good work in Bangladesh and we will soon be interviewing Tanvir for Gaysi.

Tanvir’s pictures were beautiful, unique and very creative. After we counted the results, our beloved Rashmi pointed out : Tanvir wins Tasveer!

Indeed. Congratulations Tanvir! ( *claps*, *whistles*, *woots* )

As promised, the first prize entry will be featured in the next Gaysi zine. It is a brilliantly shot photograph involving two cute monks, but yes.. you have to wait to see it!

Here is the second prize entry, “Waiting for you”.  (If you use this picture in your website or at other places, please play fair and credit, Tanvir Alim)

If you missed the opportunity this time, don’t you worry. We will be back with a new contest very soon.

xoxo,
Team Gaysi
