~Parents/Family~

Parents/Family are an important part of the South Asian heritage and culture. As the South Asian Queer community, how do we continue to be mindful and respectful of our families and parents while maintaining our queer identities?

How do we deal with issues and conflicts that might rise out of being queer and what impact does this have on shaping us as parents? Is the emphasis on family values more or less present in the South Asian culture when compared to other cultures around the world?
