The BQFFProject is organising the 6th edition of the Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF).
The BQFF celebrates cinema on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, hijra, intersex and other sexual and gender minorities in India. The Supreme Court of India has re-cast queer communities asbeing criminal by the virtue of their sexual acts. This provides a greatimpetus for festivals like this to play a vital role in both the telling of realqueer stories and in providing the community a space to voice their concerns. As one of the more popular queer film festivals in India, the BQFF will showcase over50 international films, a photo exhibition, panel discussions and cultural performancesover 3 days in Bangalore, India.
BQFF has become a go-to festival for SouthIndia’s cinema lovers and has seen thousands of viewers on all 3 days of itsscreenings. BQFF will also host filmmakers and producers from around the worldand provide opportunities for new collaborations in cinema.
