Our country got Independence 70 years ago but we are very far from a creating a nation which is free from sexism, gender inequality and systematic discrimination against minorities like the LGBTQI community. How are we “free” when Indian Law penalizes us for having certain sexual preferences and giving voice to our identities, our sense of self, as men and women and both and neither, as heterosexual and homosexual, normal and abnormal, natural and unnatural?

How are we free when the State is sitting right inside our bedrooms dictating our every move?
