Movie Review : Sancharram

Sancharram (meaning “the journey”) is a 2004 movie that is perhaps the first of its kind. One might say that “Fire” was the first Indian movie to deal with sapphism, but in the movie the sisters-in-law were pushed into a lesbian relationship more out of loneliness than anything else.

Surrogacy For The Gay

While surrogacy is legal in India, we haven’t had a law regulating the process yet. Things may change soon, as the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act (Regulation) Bill, 2010 that is pending review by the Union Cabinet, seeks to legalise commercial surrogacy allows single persons as well as same sex couples legal sanction to have children through surrogacy.
