I really liked the show. Participants and panelists were awesome. Loved the punjabi grandma!
Bharka kept mentioning "right to choose". I feel sexuality is a NOT a choice, and it is inherent like a person's skin color. I know this is debatable, but I wish they spoke about it rather than keep stressing sexuality as a personal choice.
I am big fan of Dostana, but I was little disappointed when Harish said his teenage sister couldn't have understood his sexuality , had he taken her to a "artsy" movie. Not fair, to under estimate her intelligence. I don't think teenagers needs dance, song and bollywood masala to understand feelings and emotions. A serious movie like "My brother Nikhil" would have conveyed it in a better way.

Really? I felt that the grandma was the best part.
Barkha needs to take her eyes off Mansukhani baba - at least focus on the issue, not just the movie.
Harish's coming out did sound kinda weird for a person like him, but why not? We all have our icky awkward moments.
Bhan was good too!
I think the show'd get a 3 out of 5 from me.

Thank you, those of you who have replied.. I gotta read 2 reactions of people whom I consider as bright sparks. One questioned the absence of 'non hijra trans people' while the other asked 'Where are the fathers?' . These questions prompted me to post the same question here (this being my first post),.. Its almost like me questioning 'Fire' when everyone around seemed to go gaga over it.
Think it's a great start while there's this nagging voice that asks, when does one go beyond the usual set questions (like the 'set' question paper that I studied knowing that all the paper will be the same), when doesnt one not see any filmy types, that sort of adds a strange social sanction on every question on this earth... why is film more important than actually capturing the emotions that worked for getting these parents together. Where were all the parents who petitioned? Where are the lawyers? The antivoices - representatives of religious organisation, why was this so high gloss? Is Barkha Dutt going Simi Garewal? Too many questions. :)
