We all go through this at some stage of our lives. Maybe a relationship has failed due to miscommunication, mistakes, mutually or through external factors. Maybe an unrequited straight crush or an often unattainable gay crush. Often times, especially those without a gay support network or those in the closet feel isolated and unsure where to understand. Who can they speak to about these feelings? Who will understand and listen nonjudgementally? So I thought i'd set up this corner for people to post stories, give helpful advice, to post songs and poems that have helped them through past breakups etc.

It's a bloody waste of time crying over someone who didn't give a damn. I say, shit happens...and will happen time and again. So get up and get going.

As I say...."You are the center of your world".

My mum tells me not to give that person so much importance but damn I can't help it. I cry, sleep all day, can't eat, wake up way too early in the morning, write a lot... watch sad movies, which my mum says is a bad idea, but I say it helps me process my emotions... There isn't really anything you can do other than just let it be and follow your instincts :( Do what makes you feel better and let your loved ones know that you need them, hoping that they understand.

shrug, lock yourself in the house for a couple of days/go for a run/do a movie marathon etc...One of these end up breaking me out of it.... Still trying to find one that takes the shortest time though...But Ah, that optimization has to come with experimentation...:)

Get together with your close buds and bitch about your ex :). Your friends will tell you how wonderful you are, and how they always knew that person is not right for you/didn't deserve you, etc.. Believe me, it helps.

Fill your life with distractions so you don't find your mind constantly reiterating those feelings.. Take up a hobby, new sports, novels, music, travel, writing, cooking, gardening, etc. etc. Live life in full speed. You'll eventually start forgetting about your ex, especially as you start meeting new people.
