QueerCampus India (QCI) : Queering Bollywood

The theme of this month’s first public meeting is Queering Bollywood. We’re going to discuss about all the Indian Queer elements in the mainstream Bollywood movies and we hope to have interactive session and going beyond textual analysis of cinema, and making it a creative and fun filled meeting, thus discussing YOUR SAY about the portrayal of queers in Indian cinema.

Shahrukh, Ranbir in Brokeback Mountain Remake ?

Latest Bollywood buzz is that rising superstar, Ranbir Kapoor refused to work with Shahrukh khan, again! Kapoor kid says he is not desperate and is waiting for the “perfect script” to share screen space with King Khan.

Film Screening & Fundraiser with Director Onir

The Shakti Resource Center, Chennai joins hands with Tulir, an organization working towards the prevention and healing of child sexual abuse in organizing a joint fundraiser on Saturday, 4 December 2010 at the South India Film Chamber Theatre in Chennai.

Onirban Dhar (of My Brother Nikhil fame) has graciously agreed to screen two of his films at this event.

Dunno Y Bollywood Is Not O.K with Gays [Our World This Week]

Close on this article’s heels comes news that the release of Dunno Y…. has been delayed because the charming chaps of the Bhartiya Yuva Morcha protested ( Are these guys new ? never heard of them ? must be an offshoot of an offshoot of an offshoot of the SS. wow.) Apparently, Homosexuality is against Indian culture. Ok folks! After Halloween – we all go back to being straight o.k ? Party time over. I kid – but you get the drift – There are people in this world who dare define Indian culture.

My imagination ran wild!
