10 Things That Happen In A Lesbian Relationship

If you’re a veteran lesbian, chances are you’ve been in at least one long term relationship with a girl. You may have noticed that it was scary and difficult. However, if you are new to the scene and curious about the future, here is a list of things you can expect to find yourself experiencing once you trap the lady love of your life.

Spotlight On Iran: Three Men Executed

South Asia is not a predictable or cohesive collection of countries, especially in regards to queer people’s human rights. While India and Nepal are making strides in regards to LGBTQ human rights, there are other parts of South Asia where the threat to queer people’s danger is more blatant.

A Letter On Being Fat

I grew up feeling very uncomfortable about my breast. According to me they were not supposed to grow. I spent years wearing bra sizes way too small for me because all I wanted was for them to vanish.

Movie Review : Gun Hill Road

Harmony Santana dazzles in this drama as a trans teen, Vanessa and her struggling relationship with her just returned-from-prison dad, played wonderfully by Esai Morales and a semi accepting mom, played by Judy Reyes . The movie is set in Bronx,NY.

Stuff Gaysi People Like

A funny take on some of the Stuff Gaysi People Like or like to do. No offense intended. If you have suggestions to add to this list, please let us know.

Nothing in Between

My first lover was a woman who identified as butch. She spent a lot of time, or so I felt, in trying to define me. I never found myself conforming to any identities. There were days I felt generally macho and I’d slip into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. And there were days where I’d find feminine wiles flowing out of me in my pretty blue lucknowi kurta-salwar and dangling jaipuri jhumkas. Shortly after I came out I also shaved off my long tresses and walked around unabashedly with my shorn head.

Not Your Token Puzzle Piece

My willingness to speak openly about myself has landed me spots on panels, interviews, art projects, and so on. I always approach these with an open-mind and am usually happy to have the opportunity to express myself – sometimes I even volunteer to. However, I have wondered if my body and my words are being manipulated.

You, Me & Zine (2)

Yes! Circle of pinkness enveloping our lives. We all noticed it. We noticed it because we asked for it. And because we asked – we got!

Cruising!

You bump into a hot item on the train/bus/sidewalk. You look, item looks back, both of your Gaydar worked this time ! Yay! What would you do?

Like A Jungle

I’ll admit, up until more recent times, I didn’t worry so much about the downstairs maintenance. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a relatively hippie city, in a relatively hippie state, but I always felt like my pubes weren’t really anybody’s business but my own. That being said, I wasn’t going to make anyone go extreme trekking to get to the goodies, but I was always a little creeped out by the idea of intense hair removal. Then I got to college.

But Now The Sky Has Cleared And It’s Blue

My girlfriend & I moved to our shiny new flat about two months ago. Our home is still under the tyrannical reign of builders who have very nasty toilet habits and keep saying 'We'll be done by the end of next week' and then that next week never arrives. We're still living out of boxes and we're absolutely broke. But we're happy.

A Lesbian & I’m Lovin It!

Yes. I am a lesbian. I love women. I always have. Men don’t do it for me. These lines I can simply state to anyone. Ever since I came out of the closet, I have been completely out and proud. I haven’t feared anybody or anyone. No self doubt, no pressure from anyone. Nothing.

Feminist Porn

I think porn can be awful – and a lot of the free stuff out there is truly…strange, for lack of a better word. Speaking as a queer-identified female who is really into other queer-presenting people, mainstream porn doesn’t really do much for me.

You Cheat, I Cheat, We All Cheat.

What constitutes cheating? I’ve wondered about this ever since the discussion around the campfire in the L Word. And I’ve realized that for a lot of people, sleeping with someone else is the first and last straw. I think this is very interesting. Because this begs a very simple question: are emotional and mental faithfulness not as important?

Breastfeeding : To Be Willing And Able

In a previous post I mentioned that my internship is at a youth detention center. The youth started voicing that they wanted to learn about “my culture” and I figured they didn’t want to learn about England so I took it straight back to the motherland. I spent time telling them about India and joked with the other staff in the room that I should show them a Bollywood movie.

Podcast Interview : DJ, Ma Faiza

“Because even the best can sometimes be sloppy” - Well, this pretty much explains how I botched up a simply brilliant Podcast date with one of India’s awesomest Queer celebrity, a couple of weeks ago.
