So, assuming you’re not taking the help of any external stimulation (porn movies, erotica, a recording of your partner’s moans from last night’s phone sex, other people’s fingers……you get the drift), here’s my first question to you: Who do you think about while you’re going at it?

The writing here creates such strong impressions, that I shared his nostalgia, when he recollects his childhood memories towards the end of his life. It momentarily made me pine for some of my own childhood... a phase of my life that I like to think about, very little.

The theme of this year's NQF, ‘Body Politics’ will hopefully provoke us into thinking about how sexuality can be the basis of an inclusive and interconnected politics, as we collectively explore and discover how our bodies are central to our imagination of ourselves and our politics.

Recently, a lot was said on Gaysi with regards to the latest podcast (yes – the indecent one!) and I sat quietly observing the motion, like an idiot. Disgust expressed, threats given, apology expected, “heartfelt” apology given and yet people were lashing out. Some stood for us; some refrained from making any comments while others chose to walk away…

Nora & Solveig, a young lesbian couple go on a hike through snow-covered, starkly beautiful mountain to rediscover their love and rebuild their relationship. As the two women in bright orange parkas trek up the ragged blue cliffs with wind and snow blowing into their faces, many harsh truths tumble out.

I’d like to believe that as queers, we’re less stressed about sexual infidelity than straight people, since the threat of reproduction and offspring is relatively low.
