Suchi Govindarajan wrote a short and witty note on Facebook, about the raging immodesty of men which mysteriously made its way to The Hindu. Unsurprisingly, she found out about it with everyone else- no doubt while reading the paper, sipping a steaming cup of Bru.
And what is this abomination called shorts? Is it really necessary that Indian boys need to play sports in which they have to show their legs? I think they can just stick to games like chess and cricket (it’s not like they are doing well in other sports anyway). And swimming is another problem. We have a long tradition of bathing with clothes, why should they wear little Speedos just for this? I think it is just an excuse to show off their bodies.

Have you seen the comments on the article on the Hindu website. Amazingly obtuse men (& some women) are protesting about how the author doesn’t understand ‘ancient Indian culture’. Clearly these ancient Indians don’t understand satire and sarcasm.
