Tears could not have graced that smile
A map of 76 summers
On her face
A tuft of moon in her hair
A tinge of fire on her forehead
Worthless leather rotting now
What was once a house
To innocent dark eyes
A house to put her beliefs in and take out her thoughts from
The house afire
An incense stick in her shaking hands
A warm body beside her
She watched the ground swallow
The remnants of the sky, a patch of brown and tears long overdue
Until there was only blue.
