I am authoring a new anthology series for California-based publisher Publishing Syndicate (a letter from the publisher will be available shortly). My Story Is Out: High School Years is the first book in this series and is slated for nationwide release in Fall 2012. It is intended to be a collection of personal real-life stories about surviving high school as an LGBT teen and coming out on the other side.
In working with LGBT youth through a variety of events, writing workshops and other projects, I’ve discovered how much they thoroughly enjoy sharing their personal stories with each other. That’s exactly the reason why I decided to create this anthology.
Having just launched a national call-out for story submissions, I am seeking your assistance in helping me to spread the word. I am looking for humorous, heart-warming, wistful and inspiring stories written by straight, lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered individuals 25 years old and younger. Those contributors whose stories make final publication will receive compensation. Additionally, story submission guidelines can be found at www.MyStoryIsOut.com.
I am very excited about this groundbreaking anthology series, as it will give LGBT youth a platform from which to share their individual experiences and voices on a wider scale. To stay up-to-date and informed with the anthology series, I cordially invite you to visit www.lyndseydarcangelo.com and learn more about me, as well as my other LGBT young adult novels — one of which won the 2009 Golden Crown Literary Society Award for “Debut Author.”
Again, thank you for helping me spread the word about my new anthology series.
