Earlier this week, electronic pop gods Pet Shop Boys released a new track which samples a heart wrenching speech by famous Irish drag queen Ms. Panti Bliss.
Ms. Bliss was on a telelvision show with Brendann O’Connor earlier this year discussing homophobia, during which time she claimed that there were some Irish journalists who were homophobic. Those named by Miss. Bliss proceeded threatened legal action against the television channel and all of this ended with said television channel settling in a payout. This was no doubt a complete disregard and disrespect for Miss. Bliss’ freedom of speech!
The whole situation lead up to this historic speech by Miss Bliss which will go down in my history books as one of the best Gay Rights speeches! Take a listen! It’s amazing how homophobes are now claiming to be victims of homophobia!
