Theatres of the Body

Bangalore’s queer pride celebrations will include a workshop by performance artist and scholar Kareem Khubchandani that explores the memories, maps, and marks of the body. Through various movement and memory exercises, participants will develop stories of their own body, which they will workshop into short performances.

Theatres of the Body is a collaborative workshop and participants will be expected to work creatively and generously with others. A fair amount of physical activity will be involved so please come in comfortable clothes. Also, please arrive on time, folks arriving after 6:30 will not be able to join the workshop but may hang around to observe, comment, and contribute. No prior performance experience necessary, all are welcome. The workshop will be conducted in English, but participants may create performances in whatever language they feel like.
