As the poster says, September 15th is the big date! We are most excited to see you all as well. So take out those iPhones, Androids, Crapberries and mark your calendars! Start spreading the word amongst your friends and mark their calendars as well! We fully support your excitement!
Every time we have hosted the Dirty Talk our posters alludes to current affairs affecting the Queer community. We think that of all the taboo issues that our society chooses to ignore, the one that tops the list is: RAPE.
It’s no longer a hidden fact that Rape and Sexual abuse has been on the rise in India and across the globe. While we are pleased that more and more people are taking notice and subsequent action, many seem to forget that rape is also something faced by Men.
In our culture, there is a lot of stigma and shame attached to a victim of sexual crimes when in fact we should be working towards a stronger support system for them. The amount of courage, strength, and will power it takes to rise above makes them SURVIVORS and there is nothing dirty about being one. And those who survive and use their experience to help others and raise awareness are heroes. This is what has been depicted in our posters.
While this is no doubt a serious topic, fret not for we will still have a joyous, giggle filled, queer evening.
Now friends, get working on your talent! We will open submissions in a few weeks! As you know slots are limited and demand for these slots are quite high. Make sure you have your entry ready!
