am not a woman trapped in a man’s body or a man trapped in a woman’s body. Because I believe in the limitless possibilities of Gender beyond the binary.
am not a man in a dress or a woman in a trouser for the exact same reason, though, I can choose to be one
am just a finite point in the infinite loop of Gender expression
did exist and will continue to exist as far as human races lived and go
am a positive and creative person and have a right to be educated and employed
am a doctor, engineer, nurse, dentist, architect, artist, teacher, poet, cook, a leader, a CEO just like you
can survive the worst of calamities from the Nature-inflicted to the human-created
can survive the prejudice, looks, discrimination because I believe we are built to love and these are minor roadblocks to acceptance
do not only survive but thrive
most importantly believe in hope and that is what keeps me going
have a right to buy or rent a home
have a right to a family, friends and to a support system I can rely on
have a right to raise kids and be there for my parents
can have someone to come home to after a hard day’s work just like you
have a right to be respected and treated with compassion, fairness and good faith
can blush, cry, chatter, smile, frown, love, sulk, cuddle just like you
can have someone to love and be loved in spite of all the flaws I may have
have a right to happiness and to living a full and productive life
do go for my dreams and I want you to be part of it
am the diversity. I am part of it and I am also an observer
and you are in this journey together because I think this is our journey, not mine
am more than just a physical body
am more than mere labels
am a human just like you
am what I am
am who I am
I am trans but that is not all of who I am!!!
Inspired from thoughts off several books, blogs, conversations and observing people I have met, with my own experience towards self-acceptance and with a motto to ‘live and let live’.
