Break The Closet : National Coming Out Day

11th October is the National Coming Out day! And this year Yaariyan invites you to come literally #BREAKTHECLOSET!

The event is conceptualized and executed by two advertising students as part of a project they have taken up, and is supported by Yaariyan. We gather at Carter Road in the evening to break a symbolic Closet! This event is an opportunity to celebrate one’s coming out as well a sensitization drive to educate people about the community, the fears, the challenges as well as SEC 377 and its effect on the LGBTQ population of this country.

We will encourage people to literally break and BIG rainbow closet and come out, get clicked by a photographer (only with your consent and not for the media) and perhaps give some sound byte to the students about the coming out and its importance to you! You can also come and watch and interact with the rest of us.

When : 4:00pm to 6:00pm, 11th October 2014
Where : The ChessBoard, Carter Road promenade, opp CCD / Near Sachin Tendulkar’s Bat of honour, Khar end of the road.
How much : Its free! How will you find us : You cant miss the BIG closet and all the wonderful people around.
