Making Sense : Familial Journeys Towards Acceptance of Gay & Lesbian Family Members

We invite research scholars, faculty, family, friends, allies of LGBTQ persons and all those interested in research in the area of same-sex sexuality and critical family studies for a dissemination of our study findings.

Our presentations will touch upon some of the following key areas:

Giving Voice – stories of parents and siblings of gay and lesbian persons
We are a Family – exploring ‘familial acceptance’ with its multiple meanings and complexities, of a gay/lesbian child.

The Devil Within – familial homophobia, a challenge in acceptance
Cut from the Same Cloth – social stigma of same-sex sexuality reflected in families
