Have you met our lovely friends at Homegrown? Beyond the fabulous lifestyle media company, Homegrown also indulges in monthly musical soirees called Flux in collaboration with Krunk. Each month, the team takes on a new theme; in the past they’ve explored hip hop, techno, vinyl and even a back to school theme. And this time around, Flux is hosting its Pride Edition.
‘What the Flux is a Pride edition’ you ask? It’s all about talented Queer musicians show casing their work on a platform provided by an organization that realizes that the LGBTQ movement needs a nudge and is doing their bit in ensuring that our voice is heard. Musical voices too!
‘Why is it important’ you ponder? Well, for the first time, someone outside of the community is taking an initiative to stand up and promote all things queer. It’s a strut in the right direction and the start towards building hetero-homo alliances.
‘What’s in store for me?’ Music is my girlfriend. And for one night, I’m gonna share this with you. We have a great line up: Fungus, Pais & The Petticoats, Mithilesh & Kunal, Rabanne/Paloma with the night then being taken over by Nicholson who has a special DJ set in store for us. And if that’s not exciting enough for you, Flux also has a specially curated play list leading up to this evening. It’s a little something to keep you going till the show kicks off.
Does this prompt a, ‘Great! How do I sign up?’ You have just got to bring your fabulous selves on Saturday, September 27 to Bonobo, and be ready to be blown away. The evening will kick off at 9PM, so don’t be late!
