This year Pride Committees across the country have decided to postpone Pride Marches in their respective cities, blaming the bad bad summer heat *go figure* with the exception of Chennai and Kerala. On the other hand Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore will be celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the ground breaking Naaz Verdict decriminalizing IPC 377 by the Delhi High Court.
Here’s a quick round up of the events lined up in major metro cities across India;
Chennai – These guys have been indulging in Pride Festivities all thru June and will be concluding tomorrow i.e. 27th June with a Pride March.
We will soon be publishing photographs and personal accounts of the Chennai Pride here @ Gaysi, so keep a look out.
Bangalore – Musical night on the 1st of July at Mother Tekla Auditorium.
Kerala – Queer Pride and Performances on 2nd July at Regional Theatre, Thrissur. The very first of its kind in the state, so come on folks show your support in whatever way possible.
Delhi – Meet up, Performances, Talks, and much more on 2nd July at Connaught Place Jantar Mantar.
Mumbai – Celebrations at Azad Maidan on 2nd July from 3.00 pm onwards.
We did try to get in touch with the Pride Committee of Kolkata & Bhubaneswar, however not much luck in getting a response from them. In side sources claim that the Committee is busy sorting out internal issues and hopefully will be all geared up right in time.
And here’s more fantastic news; those planning on attending the Pride Celebrations, we at Gaysi are handing out Pride Tees for FREE. Only request, do send us a picture of you and your friends sporting the Gaysi Tee. So drop us an email (like NOW!!) via the contact form and we will get our butt working on it right away.
In case you are looking for some instant stardom then send in your Pride Story and/or Photographs and we will be more than happy to publish them on Gaysi. *okay so we don’t really guarantee stardom but crazy bunch of friends, hell yeah!*
